Listed below are ingredients, products that you may be less familiar with

  • Pickled Ginger- Ginger Root which is pickled, used to balance your palate
  • Tamari- Wheat Free Soy Sauce
  • Pure Wasabi- Finely grated Wasabi root. Not as strong in flavour as the traditional
  • Japanese Wasabi- Grown in Ellesmere, Christchurch
  • Yakitori- Skewered Grilled Chicken
  • Togorashi- Japanese Chilli, aka, Shichimi, a mixture of chilli pepper, dried orange peel, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, slivers of nori seaweed and hemp seeds
  • Wooden Boats- Thinly shaved pine shaped into wooden boats. These are accompanied with bamboo chopsticks. The boats are approx 12cm x 7cm
  • Teppanyaki- High quality product that is cooked on a hot plate very quickly at a high temperature
  • Tataki- To be cooked quickly, sliced thinly and served very rare
  • Tofu- Made from Soya Beans, vegetarian
  • Miso soup- Made from a fermented soya bean paste
  • Sashimi- Raw fish sliced thinly and arranged beautifully
  • Okonomiyaki- A Japanese Pancake
  • Bonito Flakes- Dried Tuna Flakes
  • Nori- Dried paper thin Seaweed
  • Tonkatsu Sauce- A rich sauce made from apples and vegetables
  • QP Mayo- Creamy, dairy free mayo
